The Blue Footed Booby is one of the biggest attraction on the Galapagos Islands, Ecuador. This creature is a natural comedian. You can easily be amused all day while he walks around you. He may wobble around on land, but he's an amazing fisherman. He's looks like a kamkikaze pilot when he goes diving for his prey. This particular Blue Footed Booby stands proudly displaying his aqua blue feet. Features in JPG Magazine Issue 17: Street Fashion page 86

In the past month, the immigration reform has been receiving massive media and political attention. And I have been pretty quiet about my views. It’s a topic that infuriates me. The only reason this issue is being addressed is because the results will have a major impact on the upcoming political election. Aside from deflecting from the issue of war.

The media is spinning this as a Hispanic issue. But it’s not. There are other illegal immigrants in the United States. Yes, it will have the biggest impact on the Hispanic community but they aren’t the only effected community. It’s like the Civil Rights movement in that it isn’t just black and white, it’s also about all the people in between. Before I derail, let’s get back on track. I hate that people say that this is an immigrant issue. It’s not. It’s an issue that effect illegal immigrants. If they legalize these illegal immigrants, they will stop the exploitation of these undocumented workers. Employers will be force to pay taxes on these employees which will result into income for the government. This will also result in the rise in the cost of living in that employers will be force to raises prices to cover these taxes. That’s big government for you.

But I can not stay quiet anymore. This morning while reading the paper during my morning commute I ran across the following quote by Jesse Jackson in regards to yesterday’s immigration rally. He said that this is “an unmistakeable message about working people and immigrants. This rally really is about the huddled masses demanding that they have a part of the American Dream.” But they aren’t immigrants. They are undocumented workers who are here illegally.

I am slightly conflicted. I’m technically a 1st generation immigrant, some would call me 1.7. Why? Because I came here when I was a baby. An immigrant with American ideals. My parents came to the States for the American Dream. I have family that waited over a decade to immigrate here legally. My folks had spent a lot of money hiring lawyer and finding a sponsor to bring my family over from Asia. What message will this send to immigrants that come over to this country by legal means. Has anyone ever thought of that. The backlash from the current immigrant community. It sure doesn’t feel that way. I know I’m a minority in my views but I have nothing to gain in this debate. I just know it’s going to feel like a slap in the face if they legalize these illegal immigrants.
