Got Grease

I’m so weak. I broke down and got grease. I had this sudden craving for Roy Rogers fried chicken. Must have been all those fried oysters I had when I was down in New Orleans. I was standing there, and decided to spring for the combo meal because I wanted the fries. Almost opted for the roast beef sandwich. But you can only have a nice juicy roast beef sandwich from Arbys.. Arbys!!! Where art thou Arbys.

Just told my friend about getting my “Fried Chicken.” And his first response was feel that grease. But then again, I’m not as bad as him. He broke down and got McDonald’s yesterday. Maybe he should go see the movie.

Let’s just say that fried chicken was so good. Mmmmm…

Crawfish Heaven

Today, we headed over the 22 mile bridge to Mandeville for my first Crawfish bowl. And it was raining cats and dogs. Definitely, a day I would stay home if I was back in New York. So let’s get back to food. So they take this humongous pot and fill it up with over 50 pound of crawfish, with mushrooms, artichoke, sausage and potatos. Yummmm.. Then after they’re done cooking they lay out this massive table with newspaper and pour all everything all across the table. Oh my god, that’s a lot of crawfish. Then the crawfish feast begins. After we’re done, they have enough crawfish left over for the week.

Happy Camper

I’m such a good mood right now. Maybe it’s because I had a Jama-licious day. Stopped by Jamba Juice to get a Cranberry Craze with an energy boost. Since then I’ve been happy happy.. happy. And saw my friend who gave me a great big hug.

Super Saturday

My friend is in town from Cali. And you know what that means. It’s going to be a dessert run and shopping!!!! Okay, I’m being silly. But nothing comes between me and my desserts. *Evil Grin*

I can’t believe my friend convinced me to go to a sample sale at 9 am. The doors had opened at 8 am at the Billion Dollar Babes sample sale. It wasn’t that bad. There was absolutely no line which really surprised me. But that might have had to do with the fact you had to RSVP for the event. Then after the billion dollar babes event we headed over to the Elie Tahari sample sale. Nada. Off to girlshop we went in which I ended up getting a III Parcel Photo Album for 8 bucks. Score!

Now I’m completely famished. Time for dessert. *Smile* We headed uptown to Beard Papa to get our cream puff. CREAM PUFF. Ahh.. I’m in such a trance now. Yummy, that’s all I can say. Off we go to the next destination Chikalicous. Man, we have to wait. I want my dessert NOW…. But I have to say it was definitely worth the wait. You must try the Brown Sugar Panna Cotta with the wine pairing of course. It is to die for. And it’s kind of neat you can watch them prepare the dessert at the bar. A definite must if you’re in NY.

Jamba!

I’m all giddy with delight. Just finish knitting my 2nd scarf. This one is all mine. Then I went to the new Jamba Juice in the Time Warner building. So I’m such a happy camper right now. Glad to know I can give into my Jamba carvings during lunch. Jamba!

It’s Better Than….

We went to one of my favorite restaurant this Friday. And we ordered this Green Tea Tiramisu. I said to my friend this dessert is better than sex. And she gave me this skeptic look. Seriously, how good could this tiramisu be. Let’s just say, that she changed her mind after the first bite. In her own words it was just so sinful.

Pizza..pizza.. pizza

On Saturday, I took a few of my friends on a grand tour of Brooklyn. Our first stop was Grimaldi’s for their famous coal brick pizza. We waited for about 20 minutes for a table. But it was all worth the wait. The only problem, was we had to have a pizza with a knife and a fork. That’s just so wrong. Then we trek over to the other side of the block to visit Jacque Torre’s chocolate factory to satisfy our sweet tooth. But enough of that. It’s time to get back on the pizza tour. The next stop was Di Fara the best pizza in Brooklyn. The pizza was so good, my friends even ate crust. Ha ha… Our last stop on pizza run was Totonno which was a major disappointment. The pizza was good, but was lacking compare to Di Fara’s. In the end, we were all in food coma.

The Hunt

I had such a craving for ice cream. More specifically Ben & Jerry’s Apple Crumb, which I did not know is part of Ben & Jerry’s Dearly Departed Flavors. I went to a few supermarkets and several bodegas, but all they had was Haagen Daz. Bah! And of course, there was Mr. Softee ice cream truck that was taunting along my hunt for my pint ice cream. In the end, I broke down and bought a pint of Haagen Daz Cookies and Cream. But I never got to eating it yet because I ended getting a Red Merlin when the ice cream truck finally stopped in front of me. Mmm.. good

Where’s My Cheese?

Okay, you have one really grumpy little asian girl on your hands. This is the second time I have swung by the farmer’s market and there was no cheese. I talking about in particular about the Amish people from PA. They’re usually there selling cheese curds. I have such a craving for cheese curds right now. I want my cheese! *scrunch nose*

Coffee

Starbucks.. oh Starbucks.. Where art thou Starbucks? There must be a closer Starbucks to my gym. I mean seriously, I work around Union Square and there isn’t a Starbucks on Fifth Avenue. Yes! That’s just pure blasphemy. Isn’t there suppose to be a Starbucks on each corner. What were they thinking. Downtown Fifth Avenue the shopping mecca for Carrie Bradshaw. And no coffee. I don’t mean deli coffee. That’s just water down coffee grind. I want my caffeine. But at last, I found Starbucks on the corner of 14th and 6th Avenue. Pure heaven for now. I will not be satisfied until they open a Starbucks down on Fifth.
