Blogging Thing

I’ve realized that I’m such a delinquent blogger. I think it’s just the general cycle of blogging in general. It’s been about 7 years since I’ve I decided to post my thoughts online. And I found that I was much more open about my life online in the beginning. These days, I find that I tend to keep my private thoughts offline. Life online is very different. There are repercussions to living too freely online. And that’s why I prefer a bit of anonymity in blogging. And why, I don’t really go out of my way to promote my blog. In a way, I kind of prefer that people just stumble upon my random thoughts.

As much I’ve been offline, I’m very much part of the online world. I twitter and aggregating most of my updates via jaiku. I find that there is a very thin line that you have to walk in this online world. Like most of my friends, I’m on most of the social networking sites. But I also feel that I have to be more careful when I’m using these sites on both a personal and professional level. As much as I want to keep both parts of my life separate, I find that they are colliding in this online world. It’s enough to feel that big brother is watching. But it’s becoming silly to feel that you have to censor yourself to live your life online. Perhaps, this is just the life cycle of a blogger. Or the changing times of this internet age.

3 Day Weekend

I did absolutely nothing this 3 day weekend.  It felt like the time just flew right by.  I was in dire need of sleep. And that’s exactly what I did aside from watching a bunch of DVDs.
Dumont Burger

Though I did manage to go out to Williamsburg on Friday with a few friends.  We went to Dumont to check out this burger everyone has been talking about. For 12 bucks it was a fine deal.  I much prefer a burger from Stand.  But the Dumont burger wasn’t half bad. We ended up capping the evening up at the Brooklyn Brewery.  I don’t if it’s just a hipster phenomenon.  But it felt like every female was dressed up on a night on the town.  While the guys were in t-shirts and jeans.  Oh wells.  It must be Williamsburg thing.

Another Web 2.0 Addiction

Ack!  My friend just sent me an invite to Iminlikewithyou.  Another internet addiction.  It’s almost like crack.  I haven’t been totally hooked into Twitter, but that’s only because I’m waiting for the rest of my friends to get into it.  I’m just slowly weening myself off Myspace.  Frankly, I get too many fake friend request and spam on that site.  You really do spend more time deleting messages and denying friend request.  It probably would be pretty liberating to just delete my account.  I wonder if there is Web 2.0 Anonymous (W2A).  How to you give up your internet addiction?  Otherwise known as procrastination.

NPR Lullaby

*Yawn* Maybe I shouldn’t be listening to NPR when I’m tired. I feel like everyone has a monotone voice. *Crawls under desk* to pull a Costanza.

Play Ball

I never would have thought that I become such a sport fanatic. In the past two weekends, I’ve watched both tennis and football. Not American football. That’s still a bit confusing for me. Just the World Cup, baby. Viva la France! Ha ha. Let’s just soccer players are so melodramatic. They always crying foul. Haven’t they heard of the boy that cried wolf too many times. Well I must go back to watching Wimbeldon.

De-Wired Detox

I’ve been in Upstate NY for the past 3 days. Totally de-wired. And let me say I don’t know how I ever lived without internet access. I was bored out of my mind. Even took a walk around the town but everything closes at 5pm. Though I manage to spot a little rainbow in a fountain. That was pretty cool.

The Whomping Willow, Not again!

I think I have a hate relationship with the Whomping Willow of Prospect Park. It’s not even a love/hate relationship at all. Today, I lugged my kite out of it’s dusty corner for it’s maiden Spring flight. It was going along well until it got stuck on a tree. Yes, a tree. This kite flying hobby is becoming very expensive. So I thought I would let my kite down then cut the string. Unfortunately, it fell into another tree. I’m cursing up a storm at this very moment. And I don’t think I can call 311 again. Since they thought I was silly the last time I tried to call to have the parks department to remove my poor kite from the tree. This guy came over to try to help, while this other suggested throwing my spool to unlatch my kite from the other string it was stuck on. As you can see, it became a little communal project to get this kite out the tree. In the end, this guy climbed up the tree and whacked the branch and the kite fell on the floor. Woo hoo! The whomping willow will not strike again today.

Small World

I had an event this morning. And while chatting with one of our guest, I discovered that he is friend’s with my pottery teacher. That’s so funny and completely random. He said he has few of her pieces. Interestingly my pottery teacher makes most of her money on her website. Talk about 2 degrees of pottery.

Cut the Wire!

This is all the toture I can take. I’ve been throughly tested. Get your mind out of the gutter. You know who you are. On a more serious note. I’m way to wired. In the past month I’ve had to live without my tunes for a week. Translation: send iPod to Apple to be fixed. Cut off online. Which means dropped off my iBook at Tekserve. Oh that was pure torment. Life without my baby. All because my Superdrive said I will l spat out any cd or dvd you decide to insert into my system. Bah! Then today, I had to drop off my mobile because I had a faulty handset. Why, you may ask? Because it doesn’t show me the lovely pics of my friends when they call. Especially my cousin with his big ass knife and corn beef. So I shall pick up my unit tomorrow. At least I will only be parted from my cell phone for a day. Not like anyone calls me anyway.

Scavenging Remote

I lost my remote about 2 months ago. And I’ve been scavenging around my room looking for it.  Of course, to no avail.  I thought it might have been under my bed or toss around somewhere in my room.   But you always find something when you’re not looking for it. While I went to get more yarn to add to this scarf I’m making, I found my remote all cozy amongst a bundle of yarn.  Figures!
