Blogging Thing

I’ve realized that I’m such a delinquent blogger. I think it’s just the general cycle of blogging in general. It’s been about 7 years since I’ve I decided to post my thoughts online. And I found that I was much more open about my life online in the beginning. These days, I find that I tend to keep my private thoughts offline. Life online is very different. There are repercussions to living too freely online. And that’s why I prefer a bit of anonymity in blogging. And why, I don’t really go out of my way to promote my blog. In a way, I kind of prefer that people just stumble upon my random thoughts.

As much I’ve been offline, I’m very much part of the online world. I twitter and aggregating most of my updates via jaiku. I find that there is a very thin line that you have to walk in this online world. Like most of my friends, I’m on most of the social networking sites. But I also feel that I have to be more careful when I’m using these sites on both a personal and professional level. As much as I want to keep both parts of my life separate, I find that they are colliding in this online world. It’s enough to feel that big brother is watching. But it’s becoming silly to feel that you have to censor yourself to live your life online. Perhaps, this is just the life cycle of a blogger. Or the changing times of this internet age.

3 Day Weekend

I did absolutely nothing this 3 day weekend.  It felt like the time just flew right by.  I was in dire need of sleep. And that’s exactly what I did aside from watching a bunch of DVDs.
Dumont Burger

Though I did manage to go out to Williamsburg on Friday with a few friends.  We went to Dumont to check out this burger everyone has been talking about. For 12 bucks it was a fine deal.  I much prefer a burger from Stand.  But the Dumont burger wasn’t half bad. We ended up capping the evening up at the Brooklyn Brewery.  I don’t if it’s just a hipster phenomenon.  But it felt like every female was dressed up on a night on the town.  While the guys were in t-shirts and jeans.  Oh wells.  It must be Williamsburg thing.

Another Web 2.0 Addiction

Ack!  My friend just sent me an invite to Iminlikewithyou.  Another internet addiction.  It’s almost like crack.  I haven’t been totally hooked into Twitter, but that’s only because I’m waiting for the rest of my friends to get into it.  I’m just slowly weening myself off Myspace.  Frankly, I get too many fake friend request and spam on that site.  You really do spend more time deleting messages and denying friend request.  It probably would be pretty liberating to just delete my account.  I wonder if there is Web 2.0 Anonymous (W2A).  How to you give up your internet addiction?  Otherwise known as procrastination.

Scavenging Remote

I lost my remote about 2 months ago. And I’ve been scavenging around my room looking for it.  Of course, to no avail.  I thought it might have been under my bed or toss around somewhere in my room.   But you always find something when you’re not looking for it. While I went to get more yarn to add to this scarf I’m making, I found my remote all cozy amongst a bundle of yarn.  Figures!

Rubber Duckie

You’re the One I bet you’re saying what the hell. I sent out an email yesterday to my friends to see who wanted to go to the Million Dollar Duck Race at South Street Seaport today. Of course, I didn’t get many takers. Basically, you can adopt a duck to race for a chance to win $1,000,000, tickets on American Airlines and other great prizes. And it was to raise money for Special Olympics. A rubber duckie silly. I was sitting in front of Abercrombie & Fitch patiently waiting for one of the twins. They’re always late. We headed by the pier to see a big dumpster of 30,000 rubber duckies ready to deployed. It was pretty amazing. And definitely one of those days that I wished my digital camera was not on the fritz. The race began at about 6:15 and it was quite a sight. Some rubber duckies decided they didn’t want to race and slowly started floating down the Atlantic Ocean. Yawn I’m quite tired.

Soon after the festivities, we headed over to Little Italy for the San Gennaro festival. It was the same ‘ol same ‘ol. But we spent a good 20 minutes in front of Drown the Clown. It was quite humorous how he was insulting so many people to drum up business. In end he got dunked. Smile

Sudoku

I’m so hooked on Sudoku. Finally, there was a copy of the Metro. And I saw a Sudoku puzzle and thought I give it a gander. I read the directions which were poorly written. And I was trying to figure out how to play. My co-worker finally explains the game but he forgot the 3×3 square section. Can I say I’m hooked. I’ve been playing Sudoku online. Great another addiction.

Primary Day

I always forget not to call the twins before any election or primary day. Campaign, campaign, that’s their motto. Talked about getting double teamed before you hit your voting station. Well I lugged myself to vote early this morning because I really did not want to deal with the after work crowd. Afterwards, I was bombarded by people down the block to vote. Then I was trying to convince my friend P, to go shopping with me today. Well more like look around, ponder and put back on the rack. But she couldn’t come out to play because of primary day.

Off with My Hair

After work I stumbled into the Chistopher Stanley Salon to schedule my appointment my apprentice cut and color. It was definitely much cheaper than just making a regular appointment. Totally great deal. I also noticed that they had a postcard that encouraged you to leave a review about their salon on Citysearch. In exchange you will get 20% service discount at the salon on your next visit. Definitely, a good example of word of mouth. It does explain why they have over 169 reviews on Citysearch. Can’t wait till my haircut.

Scrabbilicious Time

I had my weekly Scrabble game today. Darn it, I spent most of the game waiting for the letter Y. And of course, I get the Letter Q, J, Z, and X. The Q is such a hard letter to get rid of. I was just missing the letter Y, to spell QUERY. While spending the other half of the game waiting to spell LAZY. Well at least I got that with the Z on a double letter score. And let me just say, the acceptable two letter list is definitely worth memorizing. It got me out of a lot of jams during the game.

We Shall Fly Again

So the last time I went on my kite excursion, my kite got caught on a building twice ended in being taken by the whomping willow of Prospect Park. I tried to get replacement spars for my other kites. But after many weeks of searching. I just gave up and decided to purchase another kite. Let’s see, maybe I should also add a swivel, and nylon bag. Oh what fun. Okay, no more shopping for me.
