Home Sweet Home

I’m so glad to finally be back home. My 9:26 am train was delayed for 3 hours because of border patrol. Apparently, they had to question everyone a train in Rochester. Who would want to sneak into the country through Rochester of all places. There only a university, Corning or Kodak there. Anyhow, we got stuck in Albany again, because they had to detach some trains. By the time the train left Albany, the food cart was out of food. That never happens. I felt bad for the folks that had to continue their trip to Philly. Next time, I’m flying. I don’t care.

Packing Away

Okay, I broke down and just bought my first backpack. I borrowed my friend K’s pack last time I went around the Beneleux region. So take a look. Isn’t she a beauty. I was debating between getting a Lowe Alpine. But after going to the Northface store, mind was made up. Sweet. Can’t wait to take it out for a test drive.

Jolly ‘Ol England

So I’m on my last leg of my trip. Back to London. It feels like home in a way. Guess because I’m back to my friends.

All About Chocolate

Brugge was such a quiet town. I finish running around in 3 hours. Spent a good 30 minutes looking for this quaint chocolate shop The Chocolate Line. It was mention in the holy backpacking bible the Rick Steve’s guide. And it was worth the 30 minutes. I had the most amazing piece of chocolate. Too bad they don’t ship.

Skip, Hop and a Jump

Wow. It’s been a while since my last entry. A lot has happened. I accepted a job offer at a new company. And will be starting in mid September. So what shall I do. Hmm.. I guess I can go some beach in the Carribean. But that would be such a bore. So I ended up getting tickets to go to Europe. I’m going to visit some friends in London, then I’ll be off to the Benelux region (Amsterdam, Luxembourg, Bruge and Brussels). I can’t believe how nervous I am. I don’t know a single soul in Benelux. And oh my god, I’m going there by myself. This is going to be a life changing event. Oh wells, I guess it’s just a skip, hop and a jump from New York.

Bitten

Darn, those little buggers. They must have gotten me up at Coit Tower, unless one of them was floating around in my room. I got 3 mosquito bites. Ewww. Well got to get ready to go back home to NYC. I was suppose to meet my friend from San Francisco for breakfast. Guess he forgot about me. Figures!

All Those Hills

I am totally famished. Haven’t eaten since 10:30 this morning. And it’s already 7:30 pm. Can I say it’s time to chow. Going to head up to Fisherman’s Wharf to meet up with Cindy for an IN-N-OUT burger. Yum. I ordered 2 Double-Double, Strawberry milkshake, soda, and fries. Hmm.. Maybe that’s too much food. Not! I can’t believe I scarfed down that burger like there is no tomorrow. Guess I was a lot hungrier than I thought.

Feed me! ha ha. Onward we go. We headed over to Coit Tower. The city is so beautiful at night, especially when you’re so high up. Lombard doesn’t look that far. So we headed to the crookiest street in San Francisco. Can I say I can feel my thighs burning. Enough walking. We’re going to take the cable car back downtown. Weeeehhheee! Can I say I feel so sore.

Homeward Bound

So after all that rain, it’s finally nice. I miss my friends back in NY and my internet connection. I know I’m such a geek. But I can’t help it. I want my high speed connection. Ha ha…

All Rained Out

This is such a bummer. It’s been raining all week but this is the time they’ve cancelled Jazzfest. And all the acts are today. Bet you it’s going to be nice and sunny tomorrow when it’s time to leave. I wanted to see Harry Connick Jr. live. Bah! All this rain must stop now!

Crawfish Heaven

Today, we headed over the 22 mile bridge to Mandeville for my first Crawfish bowl. And it was raining cats and dogs. Definitely, a day I would stay home if I was back in New York. So let’s get back to food. So they take this humongous pot and fill it up with over 50 pound of crawfish, with mushrooms, artichoke, sausage and potatos. Yummmm.. Then after they’re done cooking they lay out this massive table with newspaper and pour all everything all across the table. Oh my god, that’s a lot of crawfish. Then the crawfish feast begins. After we’re done, they have enough crawfish left over for the week.
