Little Adventure

Psst.. Can You Keep a Secret. The twins and I headed over to try to get into La Esquina. We followed the directions to the tee. Surprisingly , the hostess was waiting at the door. Woo hoo! They were all booked up but if we just wanted to grab drinks it was all cool. So we walked through this Employee Only door, down the stairs, through the kitchen to this uber-hip bar/restaurant. Pretty old concept reinvented. It wasn’t that bad, but it was still very neat. Drinks were pretty much Manhattan prices. So it was not so bad. Then we headed over to LES, to get some grub at El Castillo. It was very filling and very cheap. We were going to go to Punch and Judy’s for a glass of wine, but they changed the whole layout. And they got rid of flights. And they had less choices via glass. I hate to say, but we’re outtie. Onward, we go. We head over to Verlaine, which was a lot bigger than I thought. Unfortunately, we also missed the happy hour special. Happy hour runs from 4 – 10 pm. Must keep this place in mind, with the $4 dollar Lychee Martinis during HH. In the end we ended at Burp Castle for some traditional Beligan Beer. With the food in tow, the twin and I were thoroughly stuff and heading straight into food coma.

Flopping Floppies

Okay, I felt like saying that. I spent most of this weekend going through all my floppy disk before I wipe out my PC. Got to transfer all my data over to my mac. I can’t believe I got well over 100 floppy disk. And boy does it take a long time to reformat. It was kind of nice to find old papers I wrote in college. Can’t believe all the all nighters I spent writing those things. Crazy. And lots of old pictures from freshmen year in college. Seem like ages ago.

Potter Mania

I admit that I’m a geek. And a bonafide potter head. So it wasn’t very suprising that I wanted to head out to Potter party at the Barnes & Noble at Union Square. The only problem was trying to convince my friends to come so that I’m not surrounded by children who are their past their bed time. In the end I dragged the H. twins with me. Of course, they wander off here and there. But what do you expect they were in a bookstore. It was like being in a candy store for a hour. I was number 1017 of the unreserved wrist band. Tick tock, it seemed like forever before we got on line for this 652 page book. At least the line moved fast. There were stacks and stacks of boxes. They ripped the cartons up and were running around like santa claus’s elves. After I got my copy, I tried to read it on the train. It’s so weird. My Harry Potter book was probably only touched by a total of 3 people. It still had that brand new smell of a new book. That nicely crisp cracking of the spine of a book which has not been leafed through. Well got to now. =)
