Round and Round

It has just been a very long week. Partially because there has been so much to do. I was extremely tired and was thinking of skipping out on pottery. Yes, a chance to play with clay. Round and round it went. Very frustrating I say. Cause I don’t yet have the hand strength to wield the wheel. My teacher thinks I should work out with a hammer every day. Isn’t that a scary thought. But I had so much in class yesterday. I finally wedges, lifted, open, and compressed my clay. I have not yet made anytyhing. Just been playing. I feel like I’m back in the sandbox again.

Organic This

This morning I realized that I was having organic yogurt and granola. Personally, I think it’s a whole marketing ploy. Organic doesn’t really taste much different from non-organic food. I’m sure there are some people that disagree with me. I see no point to the mark-up cost. I picked up the granola from the street fair because it tasted good. As for the yogurt I really didn’t have a choice. All they had was the Stonyfield organic yogurt at the supermarket. So, organic this.

Calling Jenny Craig

So I get on the R train and plop myself next to this college kid and this lady. Let’s just say she takes up half my seat. The 3 seaters are meant for 3 average sized people that 3-1/2. As the train moved I plowed into the college gal. I felt so bad. It wasn’t my fault the lady next to me was fat. The lady started mumbling that I pushing her. So I said well I can’t help it if you’re so fat. Maybe someone should consider going to the gym instead of stuffing her mouth. Grumble.

The List

I rarely blog about work. But this was just too funny. Normally, it’s the darnest thing kids say. This one of those moments of “No She Didn’t. One of my co-workers couldn’t remember this band she’s looking for so she asked my other co-worker. Of course he promptly goes to iTunes. And immediately, she blurted out “isn’t there a list of white guy song.” Instantaneously, the whole office bursted out laughing. Talk about one of the best one liner quotes to remember.

Russian vs. Russian

Before we get to the title, let’s first start off with the Art of Getting a Seat during rush hour. As I spotted a girl about to get off I moved my bag aside to just slide right into the seat. Of course, there was another straphanger had his eye on the seat. But it’s really about who has the best maneuver. While this guy is getting ready to move in, my arse was already in the seat. Woo hoo! Victory. But let’s get on with the story. While I’m sitting next to this fat lady and I feel her wrath everytime the train makes a turn. Can I say pancake. I think someone really needs to cut out the meats out of her diet. During our commute, she was having a few words with the teeny bopper Russian girl. As I was approaching my stop, they started to have some words in Russian ending with the old lady saying “Chill out.” So much drama I say.

Coupling

just give up. I make new friends and what do they do. They hook up with other people. And then they disappear until they’re single again or married. Well I’m starting feel it. No one ever wants to hang out and go to the movies because they have prior engagements. But the one thing I really can’t tolerate is when people make plans and back out on you because their significant other shows up. Dude! Please tell me ahead of time so I go do something else like practice my pottery. Time is a priceless thing.

Got Milk?

My mom is like the maven for the cost of milk in my neighborhood. She’s always on the hunt for the better deal. She buys a gallon of milk every week. Last week, the best deal for milk was $ 2.19. Then sometime this week someone pointed out to her some other store was selling milk for about $1.98 but it tasted a little bit tart. On Saturday, the first I hear is how much she paid for milk and then for me to go taste the milk because it seemed a little bit off to her. Perhaps this is where I inherited my frugality. Got milk?

Rubber Duckie

You’re the One I bet you’re saying what the hell. I sent out an email yesterday to my friends to see who wanted to go to the Million Dollar Duck Race at South Street Seaport today. Of course, I didn’t get many takers. Basically, you can adopt a duck to race for a chance to win $1,000,000, tickets on American Airlines and other great prizes. And it was to raise money for Special Olympics. A rubber duckie silly. I was sitting in front of Abercrombie & Fitch patiently waiting for one of the twins. They’re always late. We headed by the pier to see a big dumpster of 30,000 rubber duckies ready to deployed. It was pretty amazing. And definitely one of those days that I wished my digital camera was not on the fritz. The race began at about 6:15 and it was quite a sight. Some rubber duckies decided they didn’t want to race and slowly started floating down the Atlantic Ocean. Yawn I’m quite tired.

Soon after the festivities, we headed over to Little Italy for the San Gennaro festival. It was the same ‘ol same ‘ol. But we spent a good 20 minutes in front of Drown the Clown. It was quite humorous how he was insulting so many people to drum up business. In end he got dunked. Smile

Hack It All Off

Today was the day, I was to hack off my hair. I arrived at the salon at about noon. And spend the next 2 hours getting my hair highlighted and processed. During this whole time, I’m busy knitting away. Then at about 2:30 pm I was swept off to another chair to have someone cut my hair. Snip.. snip.. cut.. trim.. and here comes the shearing sheers. My hair is about shoulder length. Totally love the color. As for the cut, eh! it’s okay. Probably something that will look better when I style it and when it gets a bit longer.

Knitting Away

So after my haircut, I met up with EH to head over to Brighton Beach to get our snack fix. That’s mean EH needs to stock up on his corn nuts. And I have to get more dried fruit and olives. It’s only $2.99 a pound for olives. So much cheaper than Garden of Eden. While we’re on the train EH was fascinated how everyone stopped and turned around to watch me knit. It happens all the time, but I kind of grown oblivious to it. Well I got to go finish Flo’s scarf. Woop! Don’t say a word. It’s suppose to be a surprise.
