A Return to the Past

Well let’s give you a recap of the first wedding I had to attend this season.

First,it was a Catholic wedding held in a church with no AC. About 1-1/2 long ceremony while he whole bridal party had rushed down the aisle. Made taking pictures a bit hard. The little ring bearer was so cute. He rushed down the aisle and when he was close to the papprazzi Asians, including me. He rushed down the aisle with a pillow in his face. Guess he’s a bit camera shy. While the flower girl took her time while she savored every minute down the aisle.

The ceremony was very different then the non-denomination ceremonies I’ve been to in the past. We got up and sat down at least 10 times during the ceremony. In the end, it was pretty nice ceremony that ended with a stream of bubbles.

The reception is what I dread the most. It’s a scene out of Joy Luck Club. Ran into a lot of folks. There were a few folks who said it was was very nice to see me again, but I don’t remember their names. God darn it! Where were the name tags when you needed them.

A lot has changed. When our only concern was sneaking food out of the cafeteria to stir fry in our room. To my friend sneaking her beagle into her dorm room for a whole year. Now they’re just concern about keeping track of the kids running around the reception. Most of my friends were either married with ball in chain. Some had kids while others were expecting. Surprisingly, a few of my classmates are now teachers. There much to chuckle about the past.So much has changed in 10 years.

Home Sweet Home

I’m so glad to finally be back home. My 9:26 am train was delayed for 3 hours because of border patrol. Apparently, they had to question everyone a train in Rochester. Who would want to sneak into the country through Rochester of all places. There only a university, Corning or Kodak there. Anyhow, we got stuck in Albany again, because they had to detach some trains. By the time the train left Albany, the food cart was out of food. That never happens. I felt bad for the folks that had to continue their trip to Philly. Next time, I’m flying. I don’t care.

De-Wired Detox

I’ve been in Upstate NY for the past 3 days.  Totally de-wired.  And let me say I don’t know how I ever lived without internet access.  I was bored out of my mind.  Even took a walk around the town but everything closes at 5pm.  Though I manage to spot a little rainbow in a fountain. That was pretty cool.

Attack of the Mosquito

There is one thing I hate about rain when it hot and humid.  The mosquitoes start coming out of the woodwork.  I woke up last night to find 3 mosquito bites on my arm.  Then I discovered the little rascal even bite my toe. Bah!  It’s itchy.  Well more numb.  Feels like I have frostbite.  Let’s just say if I see this mosquito it’s going to find itself spat.
