3 Day Weekend

I did absolutely nothing this 3 day weekend.  It felt like the time just flew right by.  I was in dire need of sleep. And that’s exactly what I did aside from watching a bunch of DVDs.
Dumont Burger

Though I did manage to go out to Williamsburg on Friday with a few friends.  We went to Dumont to check out this burger everyone has been talking about. For 12 bucks it was a fine deal.  I much prefer a burger from Stand.  But the Dumont burger wasn’t half bad. We ended up capping the evening up at the Brooklyn Brewery.  I don’t if it’s just a hipster phenomenon.  But it felt like every female was dressed up on a night on the town.  While the guys were in t-shirts and jeans.  Oh wells.  It must be Williamsburg thing.

Another Web 2.0 Addiction

Ack!  My friend just sent me an invite to Iminlikewithyou.  Another internet addiction.  It’s almost like crack.  I haven’t been totally hooked into Twitter, but that’s only because I’m waiting for the rest of my friends to get into it.  I’m just slowly weening myself off Myspace.  Frankly, I get too many fake friend request and spam on that site.  You really do spend more time deleting messages and denying friend request.  It probably would be pretty liberating to just delete my account.  I wonder if there is Web 2.0 Anonymous (W2A).  How to you give up your internet addiction?  Otherwise known as procrastination.

Annual Yard Sale

CIMG3501

Victorian Flatbush and Fiske Terrace usually has an annual yard sale around early May. Let’s say I hit jackpot on 19th street. I so scored.

  • 9 Quart Casserole dish - $4
  • Vogue Knitting Book circa 1948 - 10 cents
  • Miranda Sensoret Camera - $15

Too bad the Vogue knitting book wasn’t in better condition. There was definitely wear and tear on the cover. But the rest of the book was okay. It was definitely a fantastic piece. But the Miranda takes the prize. Now only if I can find a Diana. Boy, do I love yard sales.

This is also the first weekend, I haven’t gone to Stand Burger. Maybe next weekend. B-U-R-G-E-R!!!

24 Hour Photo on Cinco de Mayo

Today, I cross the street over to Victorian Flatbush. It still amazing how a neighborhood can change by just crossing the street. People were out mowing their lawns and there nothing like fresh cut grass. The cherry blossoms were in full bloom, and the birds were singing their songs. I wonder if the fireflies still come out at night. It was very peaceful and serene. And I forgot how calming it was just to walk across the street.

My plan was to head over to the Brooklyn Botanical Garden to check out the cherry blossoms. A few of my friends went last week during the festival and told me that the cherry blossoms were not in full bloom. Luckily, this week would be the most ideal optimal viewing . The cherry blossoms were amazing. It’s almost like each tree had their own personality. The way the different branches grew. I spotted a little girl tiptoeing to pull one of the branches so that she would be sprinkled with cherry blossoms.

When I first entered the garden, I spotted this Japanese Crabapple tree. It was the perfect tree to climb up and read a book. I first started on the lower branch, and went unnoticed for a good 20 minutes or so. Then I got a little bit more ambitious, and climbed up another branch. Can I say, that is the most comfortable tree to sit in. Until these two old ladies spotted me and stood there gawking at me. Rats! I’ve been spotted by the security guard on his bike who had promptly kicked me off the tree. Drats!

So off I went around Park Slope on my way to the subway. But first I must get coconut bread. Yummy!

NPR Lullaby

*Yawn*  Maybe I shouldn’t be listening to NPR when I’m tired.  I feel like everyone has a monotone voice.  *Crawls under desk* to pull a Costanza.
